EVESHAM’S Mike Tustin returned to winning ways in the East Midland Racing Association Championship at Leicestershire’s Mallory Park.
After suffering a big crash at Donington Park, the rider had to buy a new bike which endured a tough debut with two seventh places last month.
But Tustin ironed out the problems with a runners-up spot and first place for his second race win of the year.
He qualified in fifth for the opener, starting in the second row, and worked his way up to first by the end of the sixth lap.
Tustin was eventually passed by race winner Ryan Oliver but felt satisfied with second spot.
For the second race, again starting fifth, he saw off championship leader Joe Newbould and cut the gap to Oliver by lap seven.
In a race-long battle with Oliver, Tustin managed to hold on for a sweet victory while also recording his fastest lap time yet around the circuit.
He is currently sat in third position in the championship, two points behind Oliver, with one round to go next month where double points are up for grabs.
