COMPETITORS are gearing up for the Grant Davis memorial match at Bishampton’s Jubilee Fishery on Saturday.

All are welcome for the open contest with a minimum donation of £15 required for the entry fee and all proceeds going to St Richard’s Hospice.

Anglers will gather at 8.30am for a 9am draw and can pick their own peg.

The match will be followed by a barbecue, refreshments and a raffle before the presentation.

MORE than 1,000lbs of fish was caught at Rissington Road with Mark Sparrow coming out on top with carp on the dog biscuit for a haul of 173-8.

Mick Brooks used the same method for 168-12 and Bryan Townley fished the pellet for 123-12.

The section ‘A’ winner was Stuart Robinson with 88-4 and ‘B’ went to Ian Lewis with 106-8, while Graham Williams and Mick Reeve recorded their first 100lbs match weights.
