HARVINGTON closed the gap on leaders Cookley to three points with two games left on a rain-affected Bank Holiday weekend in Worcestershire League Division Three.
They lost the toss against their title rivals on Monday but batted positively with the highlight being a 93-run partnership between Jaimen Rudd (56) and James Towey (39).
Jo Venter’s hard-hitting 36 ensured Harvington gained full batting points, declaring on 225-6 to ensure Cookley could not take a seventh wicket and gain another bowling point.
The promised bad weather then materialised and no further play was possible.
Harvington gained a winning draw at Malvern last weekend after posting 176 all out thanks to Andy Fisher (42) and Rudd (41).
In reply, disciplined bowling and fielding by Harvington got their opposition into trouble with spinner Jamie Anderson taking 4-31 in 10 overs.
Malvern finished on 76-7, leaving Harvington with a winning draw and 13 points.
Harvington seconds beat Burghill and Tillington by four wickets after restricting them to 180-9 in 50 overs with Jethro Chadwick claiming 4-53.
The reply was centred around a maiden unbeaten 100 by 16-year-old Fraser Goodlad as Harvington completed victory with three overs left to lift them up the Division Three table.
