MICHELLE Parsons claimed her first ever Iron Man success with victory at the ChTriman triathlon festival in France.
Representing Team Tri UK, Parsons completed the 3.8km swim, 115-mile bike ride and marathon run in 10 hours 45 minutes 26 seconds to win the female event and was 13 minutes ahead of the runnerup.
Fellow Worcester Triathlon Club member Danny Harris finished in 10.58.26 for 20th place overall, while Andy Day was 29th in 11.21.08.
In the junior competition, nine-year-old Callum Jennings claimed his maiden international victory over a 75m open water swim, 2km cycle and 1km run.
Jennings emerged from the lake in fourth position but was soon challenging the leaders on the 2km bike section.
He had climbed to second place at the start of the run and took the lead with 250 metres remaining.
Parsons finished the swim section 18 minutes behind the female leader but a time of exactly five hours 53 minutes propelled her into the lead in her race.
She showed her experience in the run to stretch the lead over her nearest competitor on the two-lap course on her way to victory.
Harris recorded one hour 16 minutes for his swim and was four minutes shy of six hours in the saddle before completing the 26.2-mile run in 3.37.
Meanwhile, on the same day, Phil Parsons completed the half-iron distance in 16th place in a time of 4.38.11.
