NINE Evesham Vale runners took to the roads of Kenilworth for the town’s annual half-marathon, which attracted 700 runners.

The first Evesham finisher was Andrew Kendry, with a new personal best of one hour 24 minutes 56 seconds, with Tim Heslop (1.34.21) second for the club.

Stuart Bonham (1.36.03), Adam Spiers (1.36.10), Jack Folkes (1.38.09), Tom Young (1.49.26) and Elaine Clark (2.04.06) also recorded new personal best times. Lindsey Lewis-Painter (1.40.50) finished 10th in her category.

The club meets on Mondays at Flacons Bar on Waterside at 7pm and welcomes runners of all abilities.

A 10-week walk-to-run course for beginners starts this month.
