One final chance for Evesham
9:40am Thursday 13th September 2012 in Sport
EVESHAM have one more chance to avoid a winless season when they host promotion- chasing Water Orton in Birmingham and District League Division Two on Saturday (12pm).
The Albert Road take on the third-placed side having endured their worst campaign in living memory which has left them 149 points adrift at the bottom of the table.
Last weekend’s winning draw at Cannock was the first time they had either not lost or had a game called off, with their other fixtures bringing 15 defeats and five abandonments.
Malik Sajid’s side looked well placed for victory against Cannock after posting 292-8 off 53 overs with Hassan Bin Khalid scoring 113 and Sandeep Kumar 87.
But Evesham were unable to dismiss their hosts and had to settle for a draw as Cannock closed on 287-7 from 57 overs.
