DANNY Johnson finished eighth in round 11 of the National Superstock Championship at Donnington Park in Derbyshire.

The racer, who competes for Evesham-based Superstock team JD Racing, now sits 15th in the standings with two rounds to go.

Johnson started from the second row of the grid after qualifying seventh fastest, his best position yet in the competition.

Following a safety car stoppage which saw him drop two places, Johnson battled over the remaining 12 laps to secure eighth place and eight more points.
