Juniors make fine start to new term
7:30am Saturday 15th September 2012 in Sport
ECKINGTON Juniors enjoyed a glorious winning start to the new season in the Ambassador Evesham Football League.
The Under 12s opened their campaign with a match against Lenches and Eckington played out a tight firsthalf which looked like it would end goalless.
This was until a pair of passing moves down the right led to Sam Peters firing in a shot into the far corner of the Lenches net.
Peters then set up Josh Fendt to smash in the second for Eckington on the stroke of half-time.
Eckington dominated large passages of play throughout the second-half with Myles Cooper firing in a brace of well-taken goals.
Lucas Colbourne also poached a neatly taken goal and Lawrence Ryan finished off a fine move from Eckington to complete the scoring to give the Juniors a wellworked 6-0 victory.
Eckington’s under nine Eagles opened their season against Inkberrow Eagles but secured a 5-0 win.
Eckington’s Under 10s started their season well with a 3-0 victory over Broadway.
- Evesham United Girls Under 18s defeated Warriors Girls 5-0 in the Central Warkwickshire Premier Division with goals from Sophie Griffiths, Hannah Campbell, Zoe Pygott and Laura Powers (two).
- Badsey Rangers Under 12s were 5-0 victors over Littleton Colts in the Ambassador Evesham League.
