PERSHORE eased to a comfortable 8-0 pre-season friendly hockey win over local rivals Evesham.
Pershore started strongly and soon opened the scoring with Julian Heath freeing Anthony Handley to fire the ball home. The advantage was soon doubled when Graeme Handley scored.
Further goals followed with Handley notching a hat-trick by half-time and McGettigan made it 5-0 at the break.
The second-half followed much the same pattern with Pershore scoring three more goals including a maiden one for club captain Paul Murphy.
Pershore seconds also beat their Evesham counterparts 4-1 with Ollie Betteridge (2), Jake Doney and Hugh Porter on the scoresheet. Evesham managed a consolation early in the second-half.
Pershore’s first team play their first West Midlands Two game at home to Barlaston on September 29.
