Spot-kick agony for Littleton
7:10am Thursday 11th October 2012 in Sport
LITTLETON suffered only their second defeat of the season as they lost 2-0 at Bromsgrove Sporting in the Worcestershire Senior Urn on Tuesday.
Without striker Joe Lolley and midfielder Simon Fitter, Littleton trailed 1-0 at the break before Ollie Manouchehri missed a second-half penalty. Hosts Sporting then went on to clinch victory.
It ended an 11-match unbeaten run for Littleton which has lifted them to second in the Athium Midland Combination Premier Division.
Manager Andy Robbins said: “I still thought we were strong enough to get a result there but we were below par.
It’s disappointing but you can’t go unbeaten forever and they deserved their victory.”
Littleton, who are two points behind leaders Walsall Wood, return to league action at Castle Vale JKS on Saturday (3pm) looking to build on last weekend’s 3-1 home win against Coventry Copsewood.
