Pebworth topple the holders to win title

THE Wychavon Parish Games’ last one-day event – the table tennis – was the best attended for many years.

Ten teams took part in the junior section in Evesham and 13 in the senior contest.

First-timers Pebworth emerged as junior winners over holders South Littleton.

Other parishes taking part were North and Middle Littleton, Wyre Piddle, Bretforton, Crowle, Inkberrow, Eckington, Hill and Moor and Fladbury The senior event was fiercely contested with many fixtures going down to the result of the fifth match.

Harvington came out as winners over Offenham.

Bretforton, South Littleton, Inkberrow, Wick, Broadway, Eckington, Wyre Piddle, Hill and Moor, North and Middle Littleton, Pebworth and Badsey/Hinton- on-the-Green and Aston Somerville also competed.

The presentation evening will be on Wednesday, November 14, at Pershore Rugby Club and will be attended by the Wychavon District Council chairman.
