EVESHAM National Superstock Championship team JD Racing and their rider Danny Johnson enjoyed a dramatic end to the season at Brands Hatch.
The 26-year-old had targeted consistent top 10 finishes and scored points in 10 out of the 12 races while breaking his best lap times at every circuit.
At round 13 in Kent, Johnson finished sixth after a huge effort saw him pass two riders with two laps left.
He finished the practice session eighth quickest and improved to fourth in qualifying with new tyres.
Less than one second separated the top 12 on the grid but, after the warm-up session, the under-pressure Evesham team had less than two hours to fix an oil leak.
With just minutes to spare, Johnson lined up on the grid and started well, battling with the leaders before slipping back to eighth and then motoring into sixth.
