MORETON Rangers bounced back from losing their 100 per cent league record the previous week at Minsterworth with a 3-2 home win over Longford.
The London Road outfit had to fight back from going behind twice to snatch the Gloucestershire Northern Senior League Division Two game in the last 10 minutes.
Longford took early control as a string of corners and free-kicks eventually led to the first goal from a rebound after keeper John McAteer parried.
Moreton improved towards half-time and struck an equaliser in the first minute of the second period.
Luke Bayliss latched on to a good move to curl a rightfoot shot from the edge of the box into the top corner.
Both sides went close before Longford regained the lead from close range following a left-wing cross.
But Tom Newbould quickly levelled, cutting in from the right wing to finish with a fine left-foot shot into the top corner.
With 10 minutes left, Ben Shurmer’s left-foot strike, after linking up with fellow substitute Matt Magee, gave Moreton the advantage for the first time which they held.
There were plenty of goals in the other Cotswold clashes as second-from-bottom Bourton Rovers drew 4-4 at midtable Cheltenham club Real Whaddon.
