BRETFORTON showed their West Clubs Women’s Hockey League North Division title credentials with a 5-1 victory at Cheltenham Civil Service.

The leaders eventually won in style after a turgid firsthalf produced one goal on 25 minutes through Deb Slatter.

But the second period produced a Bretforton goal feast as three in 10 minutes destroyed Cheltenham.

A textbook short-corner routine saw Hayley Whitehouse grab her first before a similar move led to Sue Headington giving the goalkeeper no chance.

The goal of the game was from Sarah Hall who lifted the ball over a defending stick and sweetly reverse-hit the ball home.

The final goal came from a superb Julie Hall pass as topscorer Whitehouse fired her second of the game.

Bret have a weekend off before travelling to Westberries seconds on Saturday, February 23.
