Evesham United 1 Guildford City 1

Tewkesbury Admag: (5690503) (5690503)

EVESHAM United completed their Calor Southern League Division One South and West campaign with a 1-1 draw against Guildford City.

With a strong wind behind them, the Robins dominated the first-half at the Jubilee Stadium but only had Nathan Jackson's first goal for the club to show for their efforts.

Jackson also blotted his copybook by getting sent off seven minutes after the break for a second bookable offence.

From there, United lost their shape and direction and conceded an equaliser 17 minutes from time.

Bottom-of-the-table Guildford looked a poor side and Evesham took a 16th-minute lead. Lance Smith got clear and rounded keeper Anthony Hall before unselfishly finding Jackson who slotted home despite the attention of three defenders on the line.

Elliot Kennedy and Jared Wilson both went close for the hosts, while leading scorer Smith drove wide with Hall beaten.

Once down to 10 men, chances were limited for Paul Collicutt's side and Guildford grew in confidence.

The visitors drew level in the 73rd-minute when Nun Perera's headed home from Matt Oldring's cross.

Evesham: Barnfather, Tambling, Mansell, Powell, Wellon (Dovey 45), Sauntson, Wilson, Jackson, Smith (Brown 59), Kennedy (Evans 83), Bowen. Subs not used: Hitchman, Vercesi.

Attendance: 280.
