Hattie is club's golden girl in the pool

HATTIE Rothwell was Tewkesbury Swimming Club's golden girl at the Avalon Gala at Millfield School.

The nine-year-old showed exciting prowess in all four 50m strokes and the 200 individual medley coming away with four gold medals, one silver and the trophy for top nine-year-old girl.

Will Gibney achieved a bronze medal in the 15 and over boys 100m breaststroke to add to a sixth place medal in the 200m IM.

Another brilliant swim saw him to fourth place in the 50m breaststroke when competing against a 25-year old Commonwealth swimmer!

Elin Caine swam well in the ten-year-old girls' 50m breaststroke to gain a new personal best time and a sixth place medal.

Faye Jones (11) achieved several personal best times in the 11 to 12-year girls age group.

Alex Sheppard (14) also produced some good pbs in the 50m and 100m freestyle, while Laura Caine was eighth in the 13/14-year-old 50m breaststroke.
