Lechlade-on-Thames is an attractive and historic small market town, situated at the southern borders of the Cotswolds where the rivers Coln and Leach join the Thames.

For centuries Lechlade was a prosperous and important stop on one of the main trading arteries west of London, by both road and river, and had one of the first toll bridges on the Thames. Leisure boats have now replaced the trading vessels and the town is a popular mooring place with a large private marina for boats of all sizes.

The town has an excellent range of facilities including a doctors surgery, the Church of St Lawrence, a butcher, greengrocer, supermarket, library, pharmacy, post office and a highly regarded primary school as well as many local clubs and societies.

It is an excellent base for many Cotswold and river walks and plays host to an annual three day musical festival.
